A Turtle in Vegas

So, I just finished my gig in Vegas. Yeah. Vegas. I don't think I can explain how amazed I am even now, after the event. I got to stay in a hotel that was paid for by Zappos (the Charity event hosts that I worked for tonight) for two nights and my food costs were covered as well. Did I mention I am also being paid? They even gave me gift cards to buy from Zappos along with a candy cane! :3 I had never thought getting into cosplay would lead me here. I am still a nobody in the cosplay community and yet here I am! I have been nothing but dedicated to the role of Kazumi (the pink Ninja Turtle by DB's Turtles) and it has landed me the repeat role.
I cannot thank the people who have made this possible. Dave Warner from Art of Dave who introduced me to Daniel Bravo, the creator of the best Ninja Turtle costumes you will ever come across.
As for the event itself, there were tons of children there who were stoked to see the Ninja Turtles, hell... adults too! I also cannot say how much representation matters either, the female Ninja Turtles (Kazumi and Venus) are an absolute hit. I actually had a young lady run up to me at full speed to hug me because she was so excited to see a female Ninja Turtle. Everyone, regardless of gender were happy to see us ladies. The diversity we brought was welcomed warmly at Zappos and it was a complete pleasure being there. Even though it was cold, there was warmth in all the incredible happiness that was shared between the Turtles and those who came to take photos with us.
